Kufuor, Allan Cash Snub AFAG’s Sakawa Demo

The Ashanti Akyem rivalry within the NPP climbed notches higher on Tuesday when Kufuor, Allan Cash and a chunk of the Ashanti faction stayed away from the gathering of the Akufo-Addo led Akyem AFAG faction.

The Sakawa demonstration, which was meant to test the pulse of the NPP’s support base for Akufo-Addo, did not attract the heavyweights as anticipated.

Days leading to the failed demonstration, members of Akufo-Addo’s AFAG were all over the place creating the impression that the totality of the NPP was in favour of the demonstration and even created the impression that just as former President Rawlings used to show up at the Wahala and anti ROPAL demonstrations, Kufuor was also going to be present to add weight to the march.

Unknown to the organizers, Kufuor and Allan Cash have made it a point not to get anywhere close to Akufo-Addo’s AFAG.

According to an insider within the Ashanti cabal, there is no way Kufuor and co will support any activity of AFAG.

“Kufuor is not thinking about AFAG; he is thinking about himself and the extent to which his regime is being brought into disrepute via the revelations coming out at the Ghana @ 50 probe” the source said.

“Besides, why will Kufuor waste his time demonstrating in order to galvanise support for Akufo-Addo” the source added.

Very much aware of how Akufo-Addo is using subterfuge to rebuild his image, Kufuor, Allan Cash, and their followers stayed in their homes, offices, and shops.

Incidentally, Akufo-Addo himself was absent from the demonstration due to what is believed to be health reasons.

It cannot be lost on readers that during the electioneering campaign, Akufo-Addo, due to the same health conditions, was unable to spend time walking in communities the way President Mills did, spending long hours on his I Care For You door-to-door campaign.

Indeed, when during the campaign, Akufo-Addo tried to create the impression that he is a downtrodden, when he jumped into a tro-tro at Kaneshie, it was because he attempted to walk like Professor Mills, but could not stand the pain in his feet.

According to insiders, Akufo-Addo is suffering from a health problem that makes his feet swell if he walks for long periods.

Incidentally, one of Akufo-Addo’s loudest supporters and a paramour, Ursula Owusu, was also absent from the demonstration.

It is however not known what prevented Ursula Owusu from being present to shore up support for Akufo-Addo via the much-needed keep fit walk from Circle to the Hearts Park.

Certainly, after 8 years of chopping Ghana’s money “fuka fuka” it was important for Kufuor’s looting brigade to gather and keep fit by walking from Circle to Hearts Park.

Of course, it also gave them the opportunity to be sing their vulgar and profane songs.

AFAG, which was formed in the Law Chambers of Akufo-Addo by the likes of Atta Akyea, has been given a bitter taste of the unpreparedness of the Ashanti faction to allow Akufo-Addo to be reelected as the flagbearer of the NPP.

AFAG, which was initially known as Akyems For Akfuo-Addo Group, is a movement that Akufo-Addo is using to galvanize support for his bid to once again lead the NPP into electoral defeat.
