Kick Koku Anyidoho Out Of The Castle

Sarpong, Justice

As a citizen of Ghana who pays his taxes as I do, I want to know what Koku Anyidoho is doing at the Castle now. Since President Mahama assumed the office of the President after the demise of President Mills, he has moved his Spokesman, John Jinapor as the President's Spokesman, a position previously held by the foul mouthed Sumo-wrestler from Volta Region. Now enquiring minds want to know what is Koku doing at the Castle as his job has been taken over by John Jinapor.

Koku Anyidoho days drawing a paycheck as a Presidential appointee might continue but his days at the seat of government at the Castle is numbered. Koku will be sent packing immediately after the NDC congress at the end of this month and that is a given. It was Koku and his Informer Newspaper revealed the hoax of President Mills death before he left for USA on June 16th that was blamed on NPP which was actually hatched from then Vice President MAHAMA'S office. Koku accused MahamA's office of wishing for the death of President Mills and I don't think Mahama will forgive Koku Anyidoho for that accusation and keep him at the Castle. Koku might be shipped to Volta region as the deputy Regional Minister so as not to ruffle the feathers of the Ewes.

President Mahama has come out to deny that he is going to make any changes and will keep running the government the same way as President Mills did, that is his prerogative but Ghanaians should not be paying two Presidential Spokesmen when we have Okudzeto Ablakwa, Agyenim Boaten and Fritz Baffour doing most of the talking for the President. Even President Obama of United States of America has one Presidential Spokesman.

Ghana is a poor country and we need to trim the fat at the Castle. We have about ten Communication team members at the Castle whose job description is hard to understand since all they do is to insult and villify their political opponents. What purpose do these foul-mouthed thirty something young men serve to help the development of the country if they are not there simply as job for the boys?

What is Director of Operations at the Presidency,a job held by Nii Lantey Vanderpuije when we have Mr Newman as the Chief of Staff and Alex Segbefia as his Assistant? The duplication of duties of this government should be investigated and those found to be not essential trimmed to save Taxpayers money. All these people running around the Castle without serving any purpose have free housing, cars and other benefits for doing practically nothing.

I am appealing to President Mahama to trim the fat at the Castle. I understand he has promised not to do any reshuffle but that is a political talk. I will bet my bottom dollar that, President Mahama will do a reshuffle where some people will lose their jobs but he will do it after the NDC Congress on August 31st because he doesn't want to rock the boat when some NDC 'wanna be' Presidential candidates are nibbling at his heels and are planning to launch their own Presidential campaigns. Mahama's position is tenous and not secured as it is now but he will start to assert his authority after the NDC congress in about two weeks when he has been confirmed as the NDC Presidential candidate. What we want to know is Koku's position at the Castle at the moment and the Nii Vanderpuije postion which mimics that of the Chief of staff position.

Ghana cannot afford to put two people to do one man's job as we witnessed during the first Republic when a ten acre farm were being cared for by hundred workers calling themselves WORKERS BRIGADE.I am really surprise this Koku's issue has not been broached by the opposition Parties. If Koku is going to be the Vice President's Spokesman, we should be informed.
