Yeboah wins Stanchart Golf

ALFRED Yeboah of Awaso won the 26th edition of the Stanchart Regional Open Golf competition last Saturday, at the Kumasi Golf Course.

He scored gross score points of 46 in the one-day 18-hole competition. Yeboah played 23-23 with handicap 17. Ian Peterson of Kumasi came second with a score 42 points.

He also played 19-23 with handicap 24. C. Tabi also of Kumasi placed third with score 40 points and also played 18-22 with handicap 19.

John Saah of Kumasi club had score of 39 points and played 129-22 with handicap 7. J. Asmah also played 19-19 with handicap seven to beat Dr Samuel Nixon of Kumasi on countback with 38 points to place fifth.

F. Owusu Ansah also beat K. Obeng on countback with score 37 points to place seventh. Paul Ahun of Kumasi also scored 36 points.

In the ladies event, Mercy Ampofo, ladies captain scored 37 points to win the competition followed by Hector Muller who beat R. Khalil on countback with net score 32. C. Adjei came fourth with net score 31 while Mrs Amexo Atiase scored 29 points to place fifth.

Present were Eddy Essoka, Chief Executive Officer, Stan Williams, Executive Director, Daniel Akaba, Regional Manager, Chris Odamten, Sam Acquah, Brands Manager and Allen Quaye, Products Manager of Stanchart. Stanchart spent ?40 for the competition.

Nana Kwasi Bawuah, Chief Executive of the Golf Club, thanked Stanchart for its sponsorship since 1977 and appealed to other companies and organisations to sponsor golf competitions
