It seems the popularity of the Member of Parliament (MP) for New Juaben South of the Eastern region, Dr. Mark Assibey Yeboah is gradually dwindling despite his contributions in Parliament.

The legislature, who is currently the Chairman of the Finance committee is gradually losing credibility in his constituency, according to close sources.

However, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Mr Kofi Okyere Baafi now seems to be the 'eye' of constituents as he seems to be even popular than the MP.

Even though Mr. Baafi is yet to officially announce his intention to contest the seat, he has initiated lots of activities in the constituency warranting him the support of most constituents and some party executives.

Dr. Assibey Yeboah, who is the incumbent MP has for some time now received several accusations for failing on constituents expectations considering his campaign message prior to the last elections.

He is being accused of failing to support in the development of the area as well as being described as a hostile personality towards his constituents.

Investigations by the journalist also revealed that most party executives from national to the polling stations as well as party supporters are in support of the Free Zones CEO due to his benevolent attitude.

Mr. Okyere Baafi for the past months has been engaging party supporters in keep fit exercises and other activities gaining him much recognition.

He is also noted for his zeal to assist unemployed graduates to acquire jobs whereas a health screening exercise was also organised for constituents during the Easter festivities.
