Investigate The Ejura Sekyere Dumasi Municipal Chief Executive

A group calling itself the Concern Citizens of the Ejura Sekyeredumase Municipality have called on the government to as a matter of extreme urgency institute investigations into the circumstances under which the Municipal Chief Executive of the area Alhaji Mohammed Bawah Braimah awarded a six-room class room on contract before convening a meeting of the Municipal Tender board to deliberate on the award.
In a statement to the press the group indicated that the behaviour of Alhaji Braimah was not only arbitrarily but also a clear case of vested interest and corruption in the award of a contract without recourse to the lay down procedures.
This the group believes is an affront to transparency and gross violation of procedures and must therefore be investigated without any further delay to ascertain the cause of the anomaly.
According to the group the Municipal Engineer one Mr. Eric Y. Owusu on the 16th of June 2015 called a Tender Opening meeting for two projects: construction of No.1 6-Unit classroom at Ayinasu and No. 1 10-seated Aqua Privy Toilet at a place known as Ejura Brigade.
The irony according to the Concern Citizens is that the very projects on which Tender was been opened for had reached advanced levels of construction on the very day of the opening of the Municipal Tender Board and it is believed that the Municipal Chief Executive either awarded those contracts to himself or a family relations in a clear case of conflict of interest.
The Municipal Chief Executive Alhaji Bawah Braimah is being described as “Iddi Amin” by sections of the people of the Municipality in view of his dictatorial tendencies in the area. He has incur the wrath of the chiefs, opinion leaders, religion leaders and other senior members of the community and something needed to be done about this the group opined.

The Concern Citizens have made it very clear that they would embarked on a massive demonstration against the MCE and the Government of John Dramani Mahama if nothing was done urgent to correct the anomaly.
Attached is a letter convening the Tender opening meeting and the Six-room classroom under construction on the day of the meeting in the Municipality at the instance of the MCE of the area Alhaji Bawah.
