Vipers hold King Faisal in a friendly match

Cape Coast Sept.13, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers played a determined game to hold Kumasi King Faisal to a goalless draw in a friendly football match played at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Sunday.

Just after the blast of Class One referee, Jeffery Amamoo for the commencement of the match Vipers launched into serious business matching their premier division counterparts boot for boot but none of them was able to find the net until half time.

Faisal who paraded most of their regular players including Shilla Illiasu, Kwabena Opoku, Ben Wilson, Osei Kofi and Eric Gawu on resumption of the second half put pressure on the defence of Vipers on several occasion but keeper, Ibrahim who was in his peak form, stood the test foiling the many attempts to score.

Faisal's great opportunity came in the 75th minute when outside right, Osei Kofi with only the keeper to beat fumbled with the ball for the defence to clear to safety.

In the dying minutes of the game, King Faisal forced two corner kicks but their attackers again failed to utilise the chances to bring the exciting match to a goalless score. 13 Sept. 04
