Areeba Gala kicks off on Thursday

Accra, May 9, GNA - The Handball Association of Ghana (HAG) will on Thursday and Friday hold a two day Gala competition at the Prisons Handball Court, Cantonment.

The two-day event dubbed "Areeba Handball Gala Competition" will involve 17 handball teams for both the male and female categories. According to the pairing released by HAG, Fire Service will play HOSTAC, with PRESSEC (Osu) sorting things out with Asomdwe Stars. Future Stars will take on Prisons Service while Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) battle Police Service, all in the preliminaries. In the female division, PRESSEC (Osu) will lock horns with Asomdwe Stars, with Police and Fire Service vying for a place in the next stage of the competition.

Prison Service will take Hostac, while GAF stands bye for the next stage of the competition.

Mr Saka Acquaye General Secretary of the HAG, said his outfit has at stake, attractive prizes, including cash and trophies donated by Areeba, sponsors of the competition. The General Secretary said, each day's competition starts at 8:00 am. 09 May 06
