Ghanaian-born Ivorian sees no difficulty playing Ghana

Daniel Techi Yeboah, the Ghanaian born goalkeeper of the Ivorian under 20 team of Cote d'Ivoire sees no conflict of interest playing against his country of birth, since the decision to play for the little elephants was his personal decision.

Speaking with GNA Sports, Yeboah who was born in Kumasi to an Ghanaian father who hails from Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region and an Ivorian mother said he left Ghana seven years ago for Ivory Coast after completing his basic education at the Okomfo Anokye International school in Kumasi.

He said he had no difficulty in choosing to play for the Ivory Coast even though he played for some colts teams in Kumasi during his early school days in Ghana. Yeboah has been in France for the past two years with the junior team of Bastia with another Ghanaian international Michael Essien.

On his impressions of the tournament, he said the standard has been very high but was not happy with some decisions of the referees.

For example in our opening match against the Egyptians, the last minute penalty awarded against us was just unfortunate since there was no contact between the defender and the striker.

Yeboah said he hopes Ghana will qualify with Ivory Coast and meet again in the finals.
