Garbage Time?

By: Stephen A. Quaye, Toronto-Canada.

An employer at a certain company in Canada usually goes round his main plant to double check whether employees have safely switched off their power stations.
Again, he checked whether they have closed windows and properly locked out their machines to prevent burglary and fire outbreaks.
He usually does the rounds thirty minutes before the actual closing time for workers to change and punch out their time cards and go home.
This employer realized through his usual rounds that instead of his workers doing some work for the last lap, they would be standing in a group having a long chat and laughs.
So he started to ask them when passing by” is that garbage time” that you are standing there talking,”bla, bla, bla?” Or am I paying you for coming to talk the whole day?
Let us ask Koku Anyidoho whether it is garbage time for him to go round mounting political platforms to spew insults from his mouth on statesmen and dignified persons?
Or is he being paid with the tax payer’s money to jump from one radio station to the other attacking the hard won dignity of statesmen in the name of NDC dirty politics or propaganda?
If it was on political campaign platform where he insulted our noble men and women of academic excellence, I would have just blushed those statements aside because I know and understand how politicians get incensed and talk visibly shaking on campaign platforms.
But for a radio station like Peace F.M. to highlight his insult on its webpage attacking the former president Mr. John Agyekum Kufuor, that his government introduced sakawa, cocaine and all sorts of crimes in the country was unfortunate.
What many Ghanaians living in the diaspora are asking is whether that same radio station calling for free, fair and transparent election for the country to continue enjoying peace is the same radio station highlighting political insults?
Somebody should tell the director in charge of the communication team at the castle to find a different way of discharging the garbage in his pot belly safely without creating unfriendly environment in the country for every Ghanaian.
Wasn’t it disgraceful listening to a man who called himself a communication expert at the office of the president mounting the campaign platform at Ho to address electorates only to use an insulting sketch to attack his opponents in the NPP?
Suppose I were to be president John Dramani Mahama, I would have fired him right after the rally because his statement threw away the fortunes of the incumbent president seeking to be elected as president come December 7, 2012.
Party faithful came from far and near to listen to whatever policies and programmes the party have adopted and will implement when elected to power only to be told “the story according to the free pampers”.
The NPP’s adopted policy is the implementation of a free Senior High School education programme from kindergarten to secondary school level which is winning more votes for the party.

What is the NDC adopted policy which when elected into power will implement the party faithful who attended the rally does not know and therefore came to learn so they could return to the grass root and campaign for votes based on that.
Unfortunately, the communications director at the seat of government walked to the stage with the “ebetiyie” belly dangling up and down to ask the whole supporters whether Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo will be supplying free pampers as part of the free SHS education to girls in the dormitories.
Again, let us ask him when he goes behind the women hopping with the pot belly dangling up and down and after he has finished, do he supply free pampers to those women as part of the “ebetiyie” treaties?
It is time Ghanaians call this guy to order reminding him that is not garbage time for him to throw rubbish around in the name of propaganda to deceive electorates into voting for his party.
He should be reminded that Ghanaians are very wise in making inform choice by listening to policies and programmes adopted by political parties before voting for them and not easily following insults as he may think.
The people are not relating the high rate of drug trafficking in the country currently to what happened during the time of president Kufuor. They are assessing the situation currently under President John Dramani Mahama.
Simply because the NDC made all to believe that the NPP was a cocaine party. No but Ama Benyiwa Doe went on various FM. Stations to state that the NPP needed money to campaign therefore trafficking drugs at that time and that won massive votes that defeated NPP in the last election.
It was ha,ha,ha for the NDC propagandist who used it as a campaign tool against the NPP. Now that the NDC is in power and the situation has gone worse is bla, bla, bla.
Let somebody tell Koku Anyidoho and his cohorts “sorry guys, it is not garbage time for you to spew insults at everybody.
