Fix deplorable Ankase road to rejuvenate development

The Ankaase road The Ankaase road

Residents of Ankaase, Ejuratia and Mpobi in the Afigya-Kwabre south are calling on the government as a matter of urgency to attend to them to fix their roads since this year has been themed the year of roads and also find a lasting solution to robbery attacks.

This call was made after the workers of the Methodist faith hospital threatens to withdraw their services after their colleague who was a biomedical scientist, Stephen Nyamekye 35, was shot on Hemang-Ejuratia stretch returning from the hospital assignment sustaining severe injuries leading to his death.

Residents of these communities live in fear since the road has become a major threat to their lives and hindering the development of Ankaase and its environs.

The deplorable nature of the Hemang-Ejuratia stretch has become a major concern for road users especially patients from neighbouring communities who wants to seek medical attention at the hospital.

Resident traders have countlessly faced road block on the road by robbers stripping off their monies and valuables and some extending to acquiring severe wounds and beatings from armed robbers making the road very dangerous for residents to ply at night and a hotspot for robbery attack.

The efforts of residents to reach to their Member of Parliament William Owuraku Aidoo ( Deputy Minister for Energy) to come to aid to find a lasting solution to this problem has been fruitless and this has infuriated the concern youth within these communities to call on the government to immediately attend to them or they will halt their civic responsibility of universal adult suffrage as the country goes on polls December 7.

The Methodist hospital serves not only resident of Afigya-kwabre but also a referral centre for the nearby district and municipals including Kwabre East, Sekyere South and it has tremendously providing good healthcare for patients irrespective of the deplorable state of the strectch leading to the hospital.

Aside these, these three communities can boost of some prominent personalities who hails from the area, the likes of Betty Mould Iddrisu former attorney general, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Fomer First Lady, Dr Amoako Tuffour, amongst others but have failed to rejuvenate the development of these communities.
