EC must be truthful, honest in election 2016

Renowned fetish priest, Okomfo Anokye of Abenkyim near Bekwai in Ashanti has warned the Electoral Commission {EC} not to feel intimidated in the execution of its core mandate of ensuring a peaceful, free and fair elections.

He said EC officials should be honest and truthful in the delivery of its mandate of ensuring free and fair elections.

According to him, EC has so far performed creditably and that the Commission is expected to do more to ensure the prevalence of peace. "The EC must be fair and not be influenced in any way", he advised.

He said EC officials should not compromise professionalism and not be afraid of threats of victimization if they do not tow the lines of a particular party saying the gods have taken care of all that is needed to ensure a peaceful and smooth election.

Nana Okomfo Anokye sad the gods of the land are watching the EC closely and that attempts by any official of the EC to mar the smooth conduct of the elections would incur the wrath of the gods.

The traditional priest called on political parties to avoid interfering with the role of the EC to ensure the implementation of guidelines .

Meanwhile, Okomfo Anokye has declared that the 2016 elections will be peaceful in spite of plans by some disgruntled elements to cause mayhem.
He explained that the gods have plans in wait for those who would indulge in violence and attempt to disrupt the exercise.

"These blood thirsty elements would either be incapacitated to partake in the elections or they will die before the polls" he warned.

He has however, called on Christians, Moslems and all Ghanaians to join forces in prayers to avert violence during the electioneering period.
