Wall Clock for For Kumasi Machoman

Kumasi, (Ashanti Region) Nov. 6 The Police Administration today honoured "machoman" Yaw Aboagye for his exemplary display of courage in arresting five men who stole goods worth 10 million cedis. Aboagye who is also known as Budo and widely regarded as the "kingpin of machomen", has been harassing residents in the Kumasi metropolis. In honouring him the police administration presented him with a wall clock embossed with the police emblem. Presenting the clock on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. S. B. Mettle, the Acting Ashanti Regional Police Commander said by his example, Aboagye has become a role model for other machomen in the metropolis to emulate. Mr. Mettle said the police administration believes that it needs the cooperation of the public for the police to be able to fight crime successfully. Aboagye thanked the police for recognising his contribution towards the prevention of crime by rewarding him and advised those who use his name to commit crime to stop and rather assist the police fight crime and maintain law and order. Meanwhile, A Kumasi Circuit Tribunal, chaired by Mr. R.C.A. Azumah, has convicted three of the five suspects. They will be sentenced on Thursday, November 13.
