During the questioning of former President Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) in connection with statements the former President had made, Rawlings accused the President and govenment of mis-information
He made reference to a soldier who died while on guard duties at the President Kufuor's private residence at the Tetteh-Quarshie Round-About recently.
According to Rawlings, the soldier died after falling from a height, but the government told lies about what caused the soldier’s death. He said after his demise, the government said he died after a short illness – “that’s what they told Ghanaians”. But the truth is that the serving soldier died from a fall, said Rawlings.
