The Daily Guide, a pro-NPP newspaper wrote in its editorial on Tuesday July 9th, 2013 that the 10 day jail term slapped on the convicted felon, the foul mouthed editor of the Search Light news paper Ken Koranchie is mired in politics as the government officials pull strings to teach the gentlemen a bitter lesson .
The anti-NDC news paper stated that if the obnoxious shuttling about is intended to break him down, those behind it may all have to return to the drawing board and added that it is part of a political mischief that satisfies the sadistic interests of persons at the helm of affairs, with a willing Ghana Prisons Service at their beck and call. Politicians, it is said; learn nothing from history the paper added in defense of Ken Koranchie. The editor went further to state that our security services have now become willing tools in the hands of politicians and they would do everything including falling over each other to please those in power regardless of the repercussions of such actions. The paper stated that it was consistent with the standards, therefore when the Prisons PRO sought to equate Ken Koranchie with Ataa Aryee, when he re-acted to a question as to the where abouts of the imprisoned journalist. The Daily Guide editor described the Prisons PRO’s response about the where abouts of Ken Koranchie as SILLY. Oh! I see. The paper went on further to state that it is pitiable and shameful that such a drama is unfolding in a country which should have long out lived crude political machinations. The Prisons PRO’s response about the where abouts of Ken Koranchie was not silly but a very sensible response and Ken Koranchie is even worse than that hardened armed robber called Ataa Aryee. The country cannot outlive the crude political machinations because it was initiated by the NPP under Ex-President Kufuor whose worse administration from 2001-2008 was praised to the High Heaven by 98% of the print and electronic media, because they were all bought like bags of maize including “Daily Guide” workers through billions of cedis which occurred from the T.O.R RECOVERY LEVY and the media turned a blind eye and plugged their ears to the bad governance of the vicious and abrasive President Kufuor, while taking the then opposition NDC on its toes with the aim of destroying the NDC totally-Mr. Editor, were you not in this country showering underserved praises on President Kufuor and his tribal government in return for fat envelopes from the NPP government and described the NPP as a media friendly government?.
The editor again stated that we understand what it means to be tagged an opposition newspaper in a mischievously polarized country as well as the judiciary which is the powerful THIRD ARM OF THE EXECUTIVE from 2001 – 2008. It was nobody, but Ex-President J. A. Kufuor and his NPP government and nobody else. The editor went on to state that, we are apprehensive about the repercussions of the culture of silence. The culture of silence will surely return when journalists are hired to publish trash, outright falsehood, wild allegations, extreme vilifications of innocent politicians by moving heaven and earth to justify such slanderous false publications in order to satisfy their political pay masters in Ghana. The editor again lamented that we are passing through strange times and not even the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) can be counted upon to render a helping hand as they ironically go for the jugular of the media as it were.
Let me remind the editor that Ghanaians cherish JUSTICE more than WEALTH, and the GBA which is an indirect political wing of the NPP cannot render any helping hand to the irresponsible journalists who are capable of setting the country ablaze through their false publications as it happened in the Republic of Rwanda in 1994 where over one million men, women and children were slaughtered like animals continuously for 100 days, so once the NPP had lost the 2012 elections-the country must go up in flames and that was the mind set of Ken Kuranchie who condemned the Supreme Court’s verdict on Sammy Awuku with impunity–Justice Atubuga was even too lenient on him and Sammy Awuku as well as Stephen Atubiga of the NDC. It serves them right. In that Editorial of the Daily Guide, the Editor concluded by telling Ghanaians to let us therefore hasten slowly even as the Prisons Service is intent on joining hands with politicians to PLAN IT DIRTY, I beg to disagree totally with the editor because the Prison Officers were doing their work professionally and it will therefore be very UNFAIR TO BLAME THEM, since the Prisons PRO gave a fitting reply to an answer as to the where abouts of Ken Koranchie, the convicted felon. Did the Daily Guide not defend the bad governance of Ex-President Kufuor throughout the eight years that the NPP was in power by closing its eyes and plugging its ears to these looting Brigades in the NPP government from 2001-2008? The press is the fourth estate of the realm-but it became the Fake Estate of the realm under Kufuor’s NPP government from 2001-2008, since the press did not make good of their special responsibility to ensure that there was viable and viable opposition in 2001, so that democracy could thrive, but instead of doing that, the Ghanaian pressmen who was bought like bags of maize and fully paid for by the NPP rather supported the NPP government’s impossible attempts to annihilate the formidable and responsible NDC party, which was then in opposition in order to erect a One Party State led by the NPP in this country. Where were you, Mr. Editor between 2001-2008 when the NPP government introduced politics of insults, dirty politics and the complete manipulation of the judiciary which is the THIRD ARM of the Executive? For your information, the hunting, the harassment and undercover assaults on the freedom and dignity of NDC members from 2001-2008 with the main aim of jailing them illegally and chasing them into exile rather turned out to become the Achilles heel of the NPP government, for it is often stated that where there is no justice, there is no peace too. Is that very clear? Mr. Editor, let me give you free education on DIRTY POLITICS BY THE NPP GOVERNMENT, which you refused to cover as a responsible journalist. At Baffour Akoto’s funeral service in a church in Kumasi where President Kufuor attended, I was privileged to be in that church and Rawlings and his wife were invited by the State Protocol to sit completely away from the High table and we expecting Otumfuo’s arrival. When the Asante Monarch, King Solomon, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II got to know the way President Kufour treated former President Rawlings and his wife-he gave one condition to President Kufuor by TELLING HIM THAT HE (OTUMFUO) WOULD NOT BE AT THE FUNERAL UNLESS PRESIDENT RAWLINGS WAS SEATED AT THE HIGH TABLE WITH HIS WIFE. Opanin Baffour Akoto was the illiterate Chairman of the dreaded National Liberation Movement with “Mate meho” as its local name from 1954 and later renamed the United Party “UP” which the NPP represent today 2013. He was also the Chief linguist of the Asantehene.
The Daily Guide reporters were there, did they report on that shameful behavior of Kufuor and was it respectful and fair?
WITHDRAWAL OF FIRST LADIES’ ALLOWANCE
It will be recalled that Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings-President of the 31st December Women’s Movement lobbied seriously for all LIVING FIRST LADIES whether serving or retired to be paid monthly stipends by the government and it was institutionalized in 1998 and Madam Fathia Nkrumah, Mrs. Afrifa, Mrs. Naa Norkor Busia, Mrs. Faustina Acheampong, Mrs. Fulera Limann, Mrs. Adeline Akuffo Addo and Mrs. Konadu Agyeman Rawlings were all given allowances to date-2013, including Mrs. Emelia Akuffo. When Kufour came to power in 2001, he stopped paying the allowances of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, but paid all the former First Ladies including Mrs. Theresah Kufour and their allowances have been increased by Kufour since then. Mr. Editor, from the above narration, who really introduced DIRTY POLITICS IN GHANA? was it not the vicious and abrasive so-called gentle giant called J. A. Kufuor? So come again Daily Guide. I am done, but I will be back when the need arise I am done. “Jaanbie Iwaii” Aluta Continua.
