Tepa (Ash), March 17, GNA - Mr Ebenezer Kwame Ntreh, Brong Ahafo Area Manager of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) at the weekend advised tradesmen to cultivate the habit of saving with the banks for the expansion of their businesses.
He asked them to avail themselves of opportunities at the banks and exhibit financial discipline for the success of their operations. Mr Ntreh was addressing the Tailors and Seamstresses Association at Tepa in Ashanti where certificates were presented to graduating apprentices, 10 of whom were orphans adopted and trained by the Association.
He said the banks' opportunities were open to all, irrespective of one's position or influence in society and anybody could open an account with a bank to save for the future.
The Area Manager congratulated members of the Association for their hard work and determination to succeed. He pledged the GCB's readiness to assist "those of you who want to succeed in your endeavours".
Mr Ntreh advised members of the Association not to rely solely on their trade but to diversify and venture into other income-generating activities to ensure that they remained in business all time. Mr Akwasi Adu Poku, District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano North, congratulated the apprentices on the completion of their three-year training and urged the Association to continue to assist them to establish themselves.
He announced the donation of eleven sewing machines to the Association from the district Assembly.
