Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Sarpong Is An Apology Of A Minister

ASHANTI REGIONAL TEIN CHAPTER – NDC

We members of the Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) in Ashanti Region humbly appeal to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to dismiss the Ashanti Regional minister for gross incompetence in managing the affairs of the Region.
His conduct so far clearly demonstrates his ineptitude in handling issues in the region.

The Regional Minister position requires a personality who is affable and altruistic but Hon Sarpong lacks such relevant qualities.

It is not surprising that Hon Sarpong has created enmity between himself and most of the Regional Executives and other party (NDC) functionaries. This is as a result of his poor human relations.
This self centered attitude will hamper our resolve to attain one million votes in the region.

Any action or decision from the Minister is always for his personal aggrandizement but not in the interest of the NDC party.

Most party functionaries have coiled in their shells because the Regional Minister will stop at nothing to clamp down on any person whose actions take the shine away from him.

The Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) in the region since Hon. Sarpong returned from Central Region have become inactive because the Regional Minister is adamant in sponsoring TEIN programmes even if it will inure to the benefit of the party.

He has never honoured any TEIN programme in the region even on invitation. He spends most of his resources on activities that will earn him public glorification even at the expense of the party.

Most members of TEIN in the region have resolved not to campaign for the party or serve as polling agents in flash points as we always do, If Hon Sarpong should lead as Ashanti Regional Minister.

If the party is serious about the one million projected votes in Ashanti Region, then Hon Sarpong must for a matter of urgency be dismissed because party folks at the grassroots do not feel secured under the leadership of the Minister.
The morale of comrades at the grassroots has dipped because the Regional Minister has lost control of security in the region.

We need a leader who is selfless, fearless and will run to the defense of the party members at all times. But Hon Sarpong only takes delight in creating problems for party functionaries in the region even if it will subject the party to public ridicule.

We are pleading with the President to dismiss the Regional Minister because the center of the National Democratic Congress in Ashanti Region can no longer hold under Hon Sarpong.
