Andani is not qualified for BOG

Mr. Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur now Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and his predecessors – Acquah, Duffuor, Agama, Addo, Ashiagbor, Nikoi, Frimpong Ansah, Adomako -- have all been economists.

Although Messrs. Addo, Ashiagbor and Frimpong Ansah were bankers, they were economists.

This is because central banking is not like commercial and investment banking. You need training in economic theory, international economics, monetary economics, etc. to be able to handle the Governor position well. Mr.Alhassan Andani must stop the unnecessary lobbying and concentrate on his job as a banker. Why would you be forcing your way into managing a such a strategic position like Governor of the Bank of Ghana and be chasing the President around to appoint you at all cost when you do not have an economics background ? Being BoG Boss is different from managing Stanbic Bank. Simply because it requires technical know how that can't be earned over night. We must get serious in this country.
