The Free Press in a front page story reports that members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Cape Coast, have complained about the subtle attempts by the Central Regional Minister, Mr. Kojo Yankah and the Cape Coast Municipal Assembly to sideline the Member of Parliament for the Cape Coast Constituency, Miss Christine Churcher from the affairs of the assembly. Under the headline: "Cchristine Churcher debarred from Cape Coast Assembly", the story says the complaint was contained in protest note addressed to the Free Press by some members of the NPP in the constituency. The Free Press says according to the members, even though Act 462 states explicitly that all MPs are ex-officio members of their district assemblies and should be sworn in like any other member, the Cape Coast Municipal Assembly has deliberately overlooked this provision and is yet to swear in Miss Churcher.
