Akufo-Addo Spoke Truth to NDC Violence & “Tribal” Politics

*By Akadu Ntiriwa Mensema, Ph. D.

“Nana Akufo-Addo has warned that the NPP will not tolerate any attempts by
members of the NDC to intimidate its members in the 2012 General Elections.
‘They have intentions to intimidate us in 2012 because they believe that we the
Akans are soft and coward” (Ghanaweb February 9, 2011).

PART I AYEKOO AKUFO-ADDO
Ayekoo Nana Akufo-Addo
For speaking truth to NDC violence
NDC, the withering leaf in wind
NDC, the rudderless ship in a storm
Ah! Nana thanks for chorusing it
No group should be dominated
Akans are being eclipsed big time
Like a dead petal in a forest groove
Under clueless besieged Mills
Mills is being hurled and encircled
Like a housefly soaring for space

Ayekoo Nana Akufo-Addo
You should’ve said more
Ghana is on a precipice
Dominated by one ethnic group
Clueless Mills is a convenient head
Adze wo fie oye passed by Akans
Rawlings was their first meal ticket
Mills is their second meal ticket
They will look for a third ticket
Never again from Akanland
Let one of them lead the NDC
That’s the dilemma to come
This is where Awoonor failed
Awonoor’s reckless victory lap
Brimming with reckless hubris
This is Mills’ ontological legacy
Akans won’t be exploited again
Mills father of all, father for all
Mills has rejected all Akans
Sidelined the Akan majority
Ewes/Northerners are everywhere
Flashing aggressive divisiveness
Ministers, advisers, ambassadors
Army, police, security personnel
Boards, corporations, chairs, aides
And P/NDC has used them all
Vigilantes, thugs, footsoldiers
PDCs/WDCs of ET Mensahs
Now footsoldiers on rampage
And Mills is as a snail as ever
Footsoldiers violence in 2012
They will do JJ’s dirty job

PART II: NDC VIOLENT POSE
In 2008 NPP was docile
NPP was hurled to the precipice
By an avalanche of NDC threats
NDC threatened violence
Violence if they didn’t win

Fireman Rawlings threatened violence
To save himself and his kins-people
Just like he burnt down Ridge
Yet salvaged all his stolen wealth

Konongo Mills evoked a “Kenya”
Sadly Mills regime has been Kenya-ed
Obonsam Fireman has burnt Mills
JJ has doused Mills with it all
Fire from a hellish within
A Kenya from a hellish within
A Kenya has plagued Mills:
The greedy bastards of Mills
Snail Mills, Konongo Kaya
Who born dog, Mortuary Mills

Tractor-man Bagbin tu-tu-tu violence

Mosquito Asiedu sucked bloody violence
The stomach politician without a potbelly
The thief hides what he steals from us

Tony Aidoo smoked wee-violence
The mad buffoon of the P/NDC
The DOKITA of insults
The man with insulting poise

Agyenim threatened to invade EC
He who animalizes taxi-drivers

Kwabena Adjei’s cat violence
The cat-thief and the cat-killer
Wanted to kill more judges

Ah a shoal of Keta School Boys
Stan Dogbe, Fifi Kwettey
Koby Acheampong
Koku Anyidoho, Azorka Boys
All fed on violence & lies
All rewarded by Mills

PART III: A CALL TO ACTION
Let us put aside jarring ethnicities
Let us put aside stomach politics
And let us put our Ghana first
Our Ghana is on a precipice
On the P/NDC’s cape of violence
JJ has said it all about Mills
JJ has never spoken about tribalism
JJ has never spoken about violence
Ayekoo Nana Akufo-Addo
You should’ve said more
