Akufo-Addo Says Ghanaians Have Short Memories

….says he’s not answerable to anybody
….will not call anybody in NPP to order
….will not respond to any allegation/s
….don’t care what voters think about him
By Margaret Jackson

It has emerged that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, NPP’s presidential candidate has adopted a very cunning campaign strategy for the up-coming election in December. Akufo-Addo is reported to have stated that Ghanaians have short memories, so he will never bother to answer any questions on issues hanging around his neck since voters will forget everything by election time.

Akufo-Addo who wears the badge of arrogance wherever he goes also told close confidantes that he is not answerable to any Ghanaian so he will not waste his precious time to call to order anybody in the NPP who engages in inflammatory speech since at this point in time all what is important is to do everything to get him elected.

Reports have it that when Akufo-Addo’s attention was drawn to the fact that keeping mute on sensitive issues may hurt him in the polls, he retorted that, “I don’t care what voters think about me.”

Ghanaians will recall that Akufo-Addo is the only known politician in the whole wide-world who does not respond to any allegation/s. In fact, he has adopted a thin skin attitude and brushed aside all allegations without commenting on them. This is because Akufo-Addo strongly believes that any serious allegation/s have 48 hours flash point before receding.

I am drawing the attention of readers to multiple allegations against Nana Akufo-Addo which he has never bothered to explain to voters even though he needs these same voters to vote him into power.

Akufo-Addo has been dogged by drug abuse since his political career, but never once has this man told Ghanaians if these allegations are true or not. The best Akufo-Addo could have done was to admit past drug abuse, then state that he has since stopped and ask Ghanaians to move on. But Akufo-Addo does not care a hoot since he believes that since Ghanaians have short memories, they will forget about the drug issue come election day.

It is on record that when Akufo-Addo was the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Kufuor’s regime, he issued a Ghanaian Diplomatic Passport to Raymond Amankwah, a drug baron who is currently languishing in jail in far away Brazil. But because the drug baron is Akufo-Addo’s cousin, he has been mute about this allegation.

Just look at the inflammatory and divisive speeches by Kennedy Agyapong which is meant to boost the fortunes of Akufo-Addo. Has anybody ever heard Akufo-Addo comment on them or simply call Agyapong to order?

Akufo-Addo has been involved in several shady deals but to date he has kept quiet saying he does not care what Ghanaians think about him.

What Ghanaians should know is that if Akufo-Addo as a flagbearer is saying that he is not accountable to Ghanaians and does not care a hoot about what they think of him, what then will happen if this man is voted into power?

If Akufo-Addo does not respect voters by addressing their concerns on multiple issues, what do you think will happen if this man is given the mandate to rule Ghana?

No politician aspiring for the highest office in any country has ever put up such a behavior, therefore, Ghanaians should watch out since Akufo-Addo has set a trap for them. If Ghanaians vote for Akufo-Addo they will live to regret since this man is more than an authoritarian.

Ghanaians do not have short memories as Akufo-Addo would want us to believe. If indeed we do, we will still not be demanding answers to all the shady deals Akufo-Addo is involved in. Ghana will be better off if Akufo-Addo is shown the exit come December 7, 2012.
