In a time where AI and cloud are transforming every aspect and sector of society – healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and education – Akshar Patel is a technologist immersed in intelligent transformations.
Akshar has more than seven years of experience bridging AI, software engineering, and enterprising, and has built a career delivering change by way of scalable and future-ready solutions.
A Journey Rooted in Innovation
Akshar's academic journey provided him with a strong basis for his career in technology. First with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from M.I.T Pune, and then with a Master of Science in Computer Science from the City College of New York, Akshar gained foundational expertise in data structures, algorithm development, and AI frameworks - which ultimately helped him solve real world problems over the course of his career.
His first jobs in India at Sopra Steria and at Innowise were useful in enabling him to see a number of technology stacks in products, offering Akshar exposure to building backend systems and deploying interactive web applications.
His experience improved his ability to produce solutions that were both technically sound and business-oriented. It was during this time that he also began to develop some skill in working with Salesforce - an enterprise platform that would become important in his next position.
Elevating Enterprise Platforms with Intelligence
After moving to the United States, Akshar began his role as a Senior Consultant for Sogeti, part of Capgemini America Inc. He played an instrumental role in several enterprise transformation projects as part of this capacity.
Throughout the projects, he led the development effort of solutions built on Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Visualforce technology to deliver solutions that enhanced customer engagement, automation, and business analytics.
It was not only Akshar’s technical fluency but also his ability to integrate intelligent features onto existing systems that distinguished him.
He collaborated with cross-functional teams and clients to understand pain points and designed applications that allowed predictive insights, operational efficiencies, and minimal human efforts.
It did not matter if he was improving the function of a legacy system or building a platform from the ground up; it all revolved around measurable value.
Thought Leadership and Education
Akshar goes above and beyond his work contributions. He was an Adjunct Lecturer at the City College of New York, where he taught Software Engineering, Data Structures, and multiple programming languages (C++, Java, Python).
He taught his classes through experiential learning, and he served as a mentor for my students as they built projects that were worthy of submissions to industry—anything from web applications to the very first models they built using machine learning.

Alongside his teaching, Akshar also engages in applied research in the AI research community. His publications in academic peer-reviewed journals cover a diverse range of contemporary topics that include knowledge graph embedding, consensus protocols for blockchain, multimodal AI systems and robustness in neural networks.
These publications have been delivered at large international conference venues that exemplify an effort to distribute and strengthen a thought-leadership role.
Exploring the Limits of Exploration and Community
Akshar is engaged not just in academia and consulting, he is involved in the larger technology ecosystem. Akshar is a Senior Member of IEEE and an editorial board member of world‐class journals in computer science and information technology. As a reviewer and program committee member of international conferences, he participates in the discussions that occur through the fields of cybersecurity, data science, and intelligent systems.
Innovation is a persistent thread in his work. Akshar routinely prototypes new solutions, which could include NLP-enabled enterprise bots or performance-optimized workflows built on asynchronous Apex in Salesforce. His efforts are more exploratory in nature; however, he is always aware of what can work and what is possible within the context of reality, so he fuses creativeness with technical reality.
His qualifications also evidence his interdisciplinary mindset. Akshar continues to work at the intersection of technologies and methodologies as a Certified TensorFlow Practitioner, an IBM Data Science Professional, a Salesforce Platform Developer II Professional, and a Scrum Master.
A Vision for the Future
Akshar Patel represents a new generation of technologists that are adaptable and evidence-based and are motivated by the potential impact of their innovation to be inclusive. He has a background in education, enterprise systems, and AI research, which puts him in a prime position to impact how organizations will adapt to the next phase of digital disruption.
Today, as smart systems swiftly transition from buzzwords to staples of business, Akshar's career is a timely reminder that authentic change is only possible when curiosity is coupled with the audacity to execute on ideas. His story continues to inspire professionals across multiple domains to use technology to do more than just their jobs, but rather as a tool they can use to effect change in the world.
