Ahwoi And Anyidoho Are Hipocrites And Cowards!

After Spio Garbrah expressed his view about the performance of the Mills administration, which was generally the slow pace it was moving, as well as its inability to fulfil its 100 days in office campaign promises among other issues heaven broke loose!

It was first Ato Ahwoi who launched a scurrilous attack on Spio making a whole lot of disparaging remarks against him, and later in an interview on a London based radio station, the communications director of President Mills Koku Anyidohu also descended on Spio. Among other things, he said Spio had no Doctorate degree and that it was a “Small” University in the United States of America that conferred an honorary Doctorate degree on Spio! He challenged Spio to publish his thesis if indeed he sat through lectures to acquire the so called degree.

I am not a fan of Spio, but I don’t hate him like Koku Anyidohu says he hates ex-president Kufour. But I must say I was so disappointed that, adults belonging to the same political party could go public with their dirty linen the way they did. It was so appalling to say the least!

To me it was nothing but open hypocrisy! Why did I say this; Spio was not the very first person to question the slow pace at which president Mills “change” Jet fighter was crawling, contrary to the President own promise of hitting the ground running!

Chairman Rawlings, the ex-president on countless occasions had stated in radio interviews that, President Mills had packed his government with criminals and mediocre ministers who were not performing! Infact ex-President Rawlings said much worst things than Spio said in his “pissing in” letter to the media.

The question to ask is where was Ato Ahwoi and Koku Anyidohu when the ex-president within a spate of two months was hourly, Daily, and weekly castigating President Mills? They need to answer this question, where were there? Could it be said that, they are afraid of Chairman Rawlings?

Apart from Chairman Rawlings, it must be explained that, at different stages since the NDC came to power other top officials of the party have expressed sentiments similar to that of Spio Garbrah. At least we all heard the Majority leader Alban Bagbin the other time say it was certainly necessary for President Mills to do a reshuffle.

The Member of Parliament for Kpone Atatamanso in the Greater Accra region was also on the loose the other day specifically calling on President Mills to give the Minister of Information a sack citing the very reasons Spio Garbrah gave.

President Mills himself was heard in an interview on Joyfm during his visit to the Central region say that, his ministers were not performing up to expectation and promised to at the appropriate time bring on board a more better and reliable team to see him through his yet to be fulfilled numerous campaign promises.

It must be explained that, ordinary members of the NDC in interviews in the media also expressed the sentiments Spio expressed. The irony is that, in all these instances Ato Ahwoi and Anyidohu lost their voices! They could not even murmur any letter against all these persons including Chairman Rawlings.

The very best description that can be given to the behaviour of Anyidohu and Ahwoi is that they are blatant hypocrites and cowards! They should therefore not be taken any serious.

We have these two proverbs in the English language; the first one says that, he who lives in a glass house must avoid throwing stones. There is this other proverb which says that, when dry bones are mentioned in a proverb old lady becomes uncomfortable. Let me explain that these proverbs have been paraphrased.

Anyidohu’s challenge to Spio to publish his PhD thesis was out of place! There is no any argument that, Anyidohu the communication director of Mills is not known to possess any qualification in communication and probably like the old women who are usually uncomfortable when dry bones are mentioned, thought Spio was asking for his removal from office. Perhaps he thought he was the square peg in round hole that Spio referred to in his letter in the media.

May be he also need to publish any qualification he has in communication that qualifies him to direct communication at the seat of government alongside Spio Garbrah’s PhD thesis!

At the time of writing this article I read that, another controversial member of the NDC who is notorious for jumping from one political party to the other Uncle Kofi Wayo is reported to have also descended on Mill describing the Mills government as “spineless”. I hope, and I think readers also hope that, the Ato Ahwoi’s and the Anyidohu’s will have something to tell Kofi Wayo too. I am anxious to hear what they have to say to him.
