A Pressure Group to Tackle Alfred Agbesi Woyome in Court

As I speak or write, everything surely points in the direction of Alfred Agbesi Woyome eventually escaping with the money he has so dubiously stolen from Ghana and Ghanaians, if we do not take care. The reason is, the very persons and party with whom he hatched that devious plot to swindle Ghana out of GHC51.2 million are still in power, albeit election fraud.

An old patriot as I am, full of concern about the collective wellbeing of the nation and its people, I am working tirelessly to bring Alfred Agbesi Woyome to book. The information so far available in the public domain about him convinces me that he is a clever crook who has duped Ghana out of the money indicated above. His own public confession on Peace Fm radio morning show/programme "Kookrokoo", hosted by Programme presenter Kwami Sefa Kayi, exonerates me from any blame for stating that Woyome is the Ghanaian fraudster of the 21st Century. He has surely earned a place in the Guinness Books of Ghana if any does exist.

I am putting forward the following views about how best to nail Woyome, retrieve the money, and incarcerate him in Nswam Maximum Security prisons. I am suggesting this as the only way forward. This is because the State prosecutors by their already disgusting nonchalance and lackadaisical complicit attitudes are never going to put up any credible prosecution to get the money back from Woyome.

The State prosecutors think they are being smart by always requesting the adjournment of the trial in an effort to get Justice Ajet-Nassam quash the case for lack of evidence, in the end. They are clever in their own parochial view, observing from their intellectually opaque worn out lenses. They need to clean their brains to understand that there are many intelligent Ghanaians out there monitoring their conduct and assessing their prejudicial stance on the case.

The longer I stay discussing their deplorably perceived connivance at getting Woyome walk out the walls of the court a free man to enjoy the fraudulently acquired GHC51.2 million, the more I may be tempted to rain insults on them. However, I have vowed to avoid insults in my write-ups and discourses, as part of my New Year resolution.

The way forward to get the money from Woyome despite any impediments already erected in our way by the prosecutors and the accomplices in the case are:

1. Ghanaian volunteers truly wishing Ghana to retrieve the money from Woyome are to come together to form a pressure group. 2. The group can pull together ideas, raise funds enough to hire competent legal brains to bring a criminal suit against Woyome for duping Ghana out of GHC51.2 million. The objective of the group is to fast track the trial of Woyome on his "Woyomegate scandal" by outwitting the current State prosecutors who are likely under pressure by the government and the NDC not to prosecute Woyome. The pressure group will seek jail conviction for Woyome after proving to Ghanaians and the whole world that he fraudulently availed himself of State money that he was never due.

How the group will obtain credible evidence to prosecute him, one may ask. A. The group through their lawyers will petition the court to require documents attesting to the payment of GHC51.2 million judgment debt to him, from both the Accountant General's Department and the Finance Ministry.

B. The lawyers must petition the court to obtain a self-confessed recorded tape made when Alfred Agbesi Woyome granted an interview to the renowned Peace Fm radio programme presenter Kwami Sefa Kayi. Alfred stated that he did never sign any contract with the Ghana government to rehabilitate any stadium or stadia.

The principal prosecution witnesses to call are the former Chief of Staff - Hon. Kwadwo Mpianim, former Finance and Sports Minister - Hon. Osafo Marfo, former Attorney General - Madam Betty Mould-Iddrisu (likely accomplice) and former Finance and Economic Planning Minister - Hon. Dr. Kwabena Duffuor (Kumawu nii ba).

The lawyers of the petitioners (the pressure group), should pray the court to oblige Alex Agbesi Woyome to provide them with copies of all documents he submitted to the previous court when suing the government for a breach of contract. That suit culminated in the judgment debt payment of GHC51.2 million to him.

If there was, no contract signed between him and the government in the first place, why then was he able to sue and obtained GHC51.2 million if some people in government, or higher positions, had not connived with him? Was it not subsequent upon the alleged breach of contract that he dubiously successfully sued for the compensation of GHC51.2 million?

Betty Mould-Iddrisu although a prosecution witness, should explain why she flouted the earlier court decision to pay Woyome GHC17 million. She should justify why she went her own separate way to arrange out of court settlement of GHC51.2 million with Woyome. Additionally, she should justify why she put pressure on the Finance Minister, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, to effect payment regardless of the suspicion raised in letters to her by the Minister seeking further and better explanations or particulars. In Dr. Duffuor's query letters to her prior to making payment, he never failed to copy in the late President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills.

Dr. Duffuor though a prosecution witness, must explain why he proceeded to pay Woyome when President Mills perceiving it to be fraudulent, had twice directed that he, Dr. Duffuor, denies payment.

The questioning of the principal witnesses can help unravel the extent of involvement of the Mills/Mahama-led government and the NDC party in the scheme, if indeed they were. Betty Mould-Iddrisu should explain to what extent she benefitted from the unprecedented gargantuan judgment debt payment of GHC51.2 million to an individual (Alfred Agbesi Woyome). I understand she had her palms greased with GHC5 million.

The petitioner's counsel can invite former Attorney General, Hon. Martin Amidu, to help as a secondary witness. From his published views on the Woyomegate scandal, he has vital information that can assist immensely with the speedy prosecution of Woyome.

Any lawyer willing can volunteer his services in the name of protecting Mother Ghana and Ghanaians from daredevil fraudsters.

Before forming a new pressure group to carry out the task as requested, why should I not first propose the idea to AFAG (Alliance for Accountable Governance), now on the ground in Ghana, or to the "Let my Vote Count Alliance?" If they happen not to be interested, then I will come again to tell how new volunteers can come together to pursue the suggested genuine cause.

Woyome, I am on your case. You can run but you cannot hide. You haven't seen anything yet. (Americans will say, "You ain't seen nothing yet").

Over to you AFAG and DJ Sources of Sources Fm radio UK. This action is not in breach of any court's order. None of the Woyome's lawyers can institute any processes of breach of contempt against us when we are lawfully pursuing the retrieval of the swindled money from Woyome in addition to seeking a jail sentence for him.
