9/11: A Ghanaian Perspective

On the eleventh of September 2001, the world bore witness to the unimaginable. America, the greatest country on Earth, came under an attack. Like the walls of Jericho, the Twin Towers in New York came tumbling down. Most of us saw, on our televisions, how two Boeing planes crashed into these two sky-scrapers. The horrendous sight of people jumping from these two towers for dear life was sad, to say the least. In fact, the pandemonium was beyond the description of words. For years, the Twin Towers--together with Time Square, the Statue of liberty and Central Park, were New York’s pride and joy. All of a sudden, these monumental buildings were no more. The Twin Towers, which for a number of years graced the New York’s skyline, became one with the dust. Of course, the lost of lives cannot be forgotten. It’s estimated that no less than 3030 people lost their lives. Indeed, a far too high a number if you ask me.

For the city of New York and its people, 9/11 would forever be remembered. The tragedy, which transpired on this solemn date, wont fade from their memory any time soon! It has been nine years since America came under an attack. Still, most people cannot fathom how on Earth that came to be. According to some, 9/11 was an inside job. Others argue that 9/11 was a terrorist attack! I, for one, believe that 9/11 was an inside job. Yes, the assault was orchestrated by the powers that be! To be precise, the Zionist war-mongers within the American government itself. They had plans for a regime change in Iraq! However, they didn’t know how to go about it. So, 9/11 was set in motion. Shortly after the assault, Iraq was invaded. Saddam Hussein, who had nothing to do with 9/11, was hunted down. He would be killed, together with his two sons and grand-son--for a crime that they didn’t commit. What about Bin laden and Al-Qaeda? Were they responsible?

First of all, Al-Qaeda isn’t a terrorist organisation. Let’s get that straight. They are freedom fighters! I think that a proper distinction ought to be made between a terrorist and a freedom fighter. For example, Nelson Mandela was called a terrorist. But, was he? Al-Qaeda is against America’s interference in the Middle-East! They are against Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine. Bin laden, who was once a C.I.A agent and a close friend of George Bush, Jr, founded Al-Qaeda. In fact, the Bush and the Bin laden families had close business ties. So, why was he linked to 9/11 if innocent? Well, America had plans to invade Afghanistan. Osama Bin laden was linked to Afghanistan to give the Americans the excuse needed to do so. Of course, under the pretext of finding Bin Laden, the so-called terrorist. That’s all!

Today, Iraq and Afghanistan have been completely turned upside down. Both countries lay in ruin! America has destroyed their infrastructures. In both countries, the unnecessary lost of lives have been estimated to be in the thousands. Why did America illegally invade these two countries? This is the question! Well, you should know by now that Iraq has a huge oil reserve. Afghanistan is the greatest illicit opium producer in the world. The country provides 90% of the world's heroin! So, evidently, America invaded Iraq for its oil, Afghanistan for its opium. These illegal invasions should’ve been condemned by the UN! Under a normal circumstance, America should’ve had her membership revoked. Expulsion and sanction should’ve followed suit. It didn’t happen! Mr Kofi Annan, the UN Secretary-General at that time, didn’t do a thing! Perhaps, fear crippled him from taking a stand. If so, then his inaction was a cowardly act!

Ever since her inception, America has been causing nothing but trouble. The country’s appetite for destruction has made her unlovable. Her arrogance is unmatched. America is the only country here on Earth, which goes to war without being provoked! She dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. No country has ever done this before! She started a senseless war in Vietnam. When JFK wanted to end that senseless war, America killed him. Back in the early Thirties, Marcus Garvey had a good movement going in America. But, what happened? The FBI, under J. Edgar Hoover, had him destroyed. Martin Luther King, Jr paid with his life for preaching integration as opposed to segregation. Malcolm X wanted to bring America before the International Court for crimes against humanity. It didn’t happen! He was murdered in cold blood.

In Ghana, Dr Kwame Nkrumah rose in our midst. A shinning star! His message was simple. The unity of all African states for the benefit of all Africans. But, what did racist America do to him? She had him removed. Africa has been crawling in darkness ever since! Dear reader, does America deserve our sympathy for 9/11, an attack--which she planned herself? No, I don’t think so!

Welcome 2 the New age of Consciousness!
