Since the outbreak of coronavirus across the world, the spotlight has been thrown on those in the medical profession, who we call frontliners, for their tireless efforts in helping to eradicate the disease.

A lot of countries have been celebrating these frontliners; for instance in the UK, there is a Clap for Carers initiative where everyone claps for the frontliners at a certain time.

There have also been virtual concerts in their honour among others and now non-denominational music group, Heavenly Jewels Chorale is out with their maiden single Hail The Frontliner.

On the song Heavenly Jewels Chorale praises the frontliners for putting their lives out there all to fight this dangerous disease. They mention doctors, nurses; midwives and pour blessings on them for their hard work and dedication.

Some of the lyrics go like:

Ghana is alive because of you,

Heaven is smiling because of you

Hail the bold frontliner! Ayekoo Ayekoo

The world at war but this time without guns and bombs

Helplessly fighting a virus fast driving us into our tombs

But on the frontlines are the valiant soldiers of Health

Doctors, nurses and all risking their lives even to death

The video of Hail The Frontliner is already enjoying great comments on YouTube.

Speaking with Graphic Showbiz, the founder and executive chairman of Heavenly Jewels Chorale, Mr Daniel Agyefi- Mensah said they decided to record their first single for the frontliners because they deserve to be praised.

“This is the first time a choir group has recorded a song for the frontliners, it is mostly individual musicians who have recorded songs on COVID-19 but we did.

“At the time when everyone is avoiding the virus by social distancing, our frontliners are busily saving lives. Some of these health workers ended up contracting COVID-19 and had to abandon their families.

“If there is a way we could do more for our frontliners, we would go ahead and do more because they are doing so well out there,” he said.

Heavenly Jewels Chorale has a membership of more than 50 and have been in existence for two years.
