Veteran roots reggae artiste, Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, has stated that paying Television and Radio stations for music promotion is a good thing to do as an artiste.

Speaking in an interview on The Late Nite Celebrity Show with Foster Romanus, he said; “Before a musician in Ghana here will like to promote his or her music on the radio on television, he or she has to pay and it is good.

“But there is something wrong somewhere. For instance in Côte d’Ivoire, where I knew i’m privy to it. When they play we log so the artistes get money to pay for promotion unlike Ghana where it is vice versa.

“If you log and you play my music, I will also get money to promote the music on my network and other networks.

“GHAMRO is responsible for checking the logging system. GBC used to log but when other stations came along, they stopped”.

Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, is a Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA’s) presidential aspirant. He has songs like Slimbelly Man, How Long, Ghana is calling, Life is Beach and many more.
