I never said I thought Ghanaians loved me - Emelia Brobbey

Emelia Brobbey has refuted claims that she did not know Ghanaians hated her that much until she released her first official song, ‘Fame Ko’

Speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, she clarified that she never made the comments she was quoted to have made and that she saw most of the comments about her song to be criticisms although some are insults and sheer mockery.

“I even saw an article that I thought Ghanaians love me, Emelia Brobbey. That story is fake.”

“My first interview after the song came out and people were criticizing was on Kumasi FM and the next one was Luv FM the audios are on YouTube you can listen. I never said I thought Ghanaians… no.

“What I said was Ghanaians are like my parents. I’ve done something. Some are saying no, you need to be corrected. You need to get a voice trainer. Others are saying I don’t see anything wrong with the song. Her first attempt it’s just okay. And I think it’s normal with life. If you’re doing something and everybody is saying kudos it’s scarce. At least you should get people to criticize you so that in the way forward, you can make amends. Make corrections and make sure you do it and do it well so, me I think they are correcting me so there is no way I’ll say I thought Ghanaians” she further explained

She said she believes people are listening to the song the way they want it and that they were taken by surprise that she is now a musician and so are putting it out in the form of troll and criticisms.

“To me, those criticizing, they are the people that I’d say even love me the more because they think something is not right according to their ears. But those who love it, they love it. They don’t see anything wrong with it. That’s why we say one man’s meat is another man’s poison,” she noted

She added that some people are rather and mocking her instead of criticizing constructively.

She then mentioned DKB to be one of the people who insulted her instead of just criticizing.

The song is less than 3 months old but has gotten so much attention. The audio was released for weeks and seemed to be accepted well until she dropped the video which resulted in social media trolls.
