Afia Pokua wins Media Personality awards at MTN Heroes of Change

News Editor and News Presenter Afia Pokua (vim lady) wins media personality in a special category in the MTN Hero's of change.

Mtn Hero's of change has awarded Afia Pokua and her vim foundation team for their philanthropic works. Management of MTN deem it an honour to award the news Presenter for using her medium to create awareness on students learning in the worst conditions especially in the rural areas and also using her own resources to fund several projects.

In an interview with Afia Pokua, she says she got motivated to take this big task because she believes education is a perfect gift to every child. She believes that every child has equal rights to have access to education.

In a speech she made during the awards night, she emphasized that her parents did eventually everything to give her siblings and herself the best education although they were poor. This she says encouraged her to take up this great course; hence the formation of vim foundation.

Afia Pokua was awarded a wooping ¢10,000 to support her upcoming projects. According to her, she has started a new school block at Adansi Kyeremebebi and also making desks for the pupils of Bawa Akura who sit on the ground to write.

Vim foundation is a non governmental organization founded by Afia Pokua some years back with about 40 volunteers. It's sole aim is to make every child know the importance of education and also to put smiles on the faces of children in deprived areas when it comes to education.
