Ghanaian secular musician turned gospel musician Michael Kesse Frimpong popularly known in the Showbiz industry as Kesse has confessed ever dating Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of Golden Empire Legacy record label and explained secrets behind his reasons for turning from a secular musician to gospel musician.

During an interview with him on Ghana’s most popular entertainment show “Showbiz Agenda” on Accra based radio station Zylofon FM 102.1, he told the host Sammy Flex that he dated the CEO of Golden Empire Legacy record label and she supported him in his initial State as a gospel musician.

“Yes, we were dating even though we didn’t date for long. We were dating as she supported me in my career. She has been supportive and I really thank her for that. We quit before she signed Keche. She even supported me in my initial state as a gospel musician but now she is not” he narrated. According to the “sweet Jesus” hitmaker, it was the CEO of Golden Empire Legacy record label who helped him know his real self and also encouraged him to do gospel music. He further refuted claims that secular music was not fetching him money that’s why he turned to gospel music saying God should even curse him if that was his reason because God isn’t a person you could use as a laughing stock.

According to him, that wasn’t his reason because he now lives better than when he was a secular musician. Explaining further the secret behind his move, he said “many do turn to Christ because of a challenge or situation they passed through. Maybe Accident, food poison or something else but for me, no. It is in the Bible that we should worship him as we are alive and I used to have many dreams and revelations about God. God has been speaking to me but just that I have been stubborn. I had a dream and God was speaking to me saying he wouldn’t allow me to come back if I’m not ready to do his work. The place I was too, wasn’t good so I had to choose his work” he added.

Speaking about his old songs, he pointed out that he wouldn’t decide for anyone as to whether they should play them or not but he has vowed not to sing them again. According to him, he decided not to take any royalty from his old songs but he was advised to take it so he has decided to take the royalties but wouldn’t spend it but rather donate it to the orphanage. Talking about the little support people think Gospel artistes get, he stated that even though people don’t help them but there are some who have been supportive of gospel musicians.

“If churches call me, they have to prepare because I will be using fuel for my car, my band, and choir. I wouldn’t charge them but at least there should be something to encourage me. I have performed in some churches and they all paid me” he ended.
