Before we delve into the subject matter, radio presenter cum musician, Blakk Rasta recently posited that he doesn't play anything Dancehall on his show.

According to him, the genre called Dancehall is chaotic and explicit in nature as it doesn’t promote peace from its inception.

He made such revelation when commenting on the fracas that took place at the auditorium of the 20th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) kind courtesy Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

Fast forward, fanatics of Dancehall blasted Blakk Rasta for demeaning their favorite genre for obvious reasons.

But it looks like it is not only Blakk Rasta who has a bad taste for Dancehall but also Kofi B, a renowned Highlife musician, has made similar statement in the studios of Peace FM during a comprehensive interview with Kwesi Aboagye, host of Peace FM entertainment programme.

He said,

“We have to be one, there is no need for gun pulling and fighting over titles. What happened on the VGMAs night was very bad, so what if the gun had shot someone? It’s high time we sit down as an industry and ban that Dancehall genre.”

He continued,

“Today fight, tomorrow fight, everyday they are fighting over titles and more, we are tired of them, this dancehall genre is even a foreign culture, we should ban it for good.”
