Popular television series YOLO is back on the screens again after a successful premiere at the West Hills Mall on Wednesday, May 1.

Season five of the captivating tv series has been unveiled with some new talented actors and actresses on display.

Speaking at the launch, the United States Ambassador to Ghana, Stephanie S. Sullivan, commended producers of the show for the project which she asserts has had a positive impact on the Ghanaian society particularly the youth.

“It’s a great pleasure to be here at the fifth season premiere of You Only Live Once or YOLO. I don’t have to tell you that this is one of Ghana’s most popular shows. But I’m particularly proud of the fact that it is also an amazing example of the commitment of the United States and Ghana share to improving the health and well-being of the world’s greatest resource- our youth”.

She also remarked that “Youth participation is vital to the development and can contribute to more sustainable investments to end cycles of poverty, build resilient, democratic societies, improve health and nutrition outcomes and strengthen economies.”

The YOLO TV series was launched in 2015 by the National Population Council with the aim to educate youth on healthy reproductive behaviour and equip them with skills to deal with peer pressure and the other challenges that affect their everyday lives

It is a part of a “Good Life, Live it Well” campaign that promotes positive health behaviours in a wide variety of areas to include reproductive health, malaria prevention, and nutrition through both traditional and digital media.

Some of the cast who were present include, Jackie Appiah, Adjetey Annan, Aaron Adatsi, Queenstar Anaafi and the Director Ivan Quashigah of Farmhouse Productions.
