Prayers scare armed robbers to abort their mission

Accra, Oct.4, GNA - The attempt of four masked armed robbers to rob a house at Taifa Burkina, a suburb in Accra, at dawn on Sunday was foiled when the inmates woke up to pray intensively to their God to save them. Madam Comfort Oye, the victim said she and her family woke up when she heard that something huge had fallen on the floor at about 0200 hours.

Madam Oye said she later heard her son praying and invoking the blood of Jesus on the robbers. When she enquired from her son what was happening, she was told four masked armed robbers were parading the veranda while others were trying to force open the main door with a huge stone.

Madam Oye said: "We had no option than to seek Devine intervention while my daughter also made frantic effort to call the Police." She said when the robbers found it difficult to gain access into their room, some of them suggested they leave but others insisted they accomplished their mission.

In the midst of the confusion, the robbers started firing to scare the residence before leaving. The Police arrived at the scene soon after the robbers had fled but they retrieved some of the bullet shells. The Police confirmed retrieving the shells from the scene.
