Afrobeats ambassador, Fuse ODG, shares visuals to the Carribean —influenced “Island” —shot in Pueto Rico, and directed by Edgar Esteves.

Oozing with colour and the palm trees riffling joyously in summer, the clip arrives ahead of his anticipated new album, New Africa Nation. The record itself is peppered with the vibrant trumpets and kicks that identify Latin pop. “Island” also discharges more than a tinge of the dancehall music.

“Massive Thanks to the people of Pueto Rico for hosting us in their beautiful country. We met some amazing people. We support the people of Pueto Rico in its road to recovery and the improvement of the Island’s economy. Fuse ODG”, says the singer about his experiences in the Caribbean island.

Fuse (born Nana Richard Abiona) gained global recognition with his 2013 hits “Antenna” and “Azonto”, the TINA frontman has constantly sought to correct various stereotypes about Ghana, and by extension, Africa. His debut album TINA ( This Is New Africa) was released in November 2014 and peaked at number 25 on the UK Albums Chart. He has also been associated with such global music icons including Wyclef Jean, Elephant Man, Sarkodie, Sean Paul, Shatta Wale, Ed Sheeran, and Major Lazer.
