Popular Ghanaian Highlife musician, Pozo Hayes says his job as a public servant didn’t permit him to concentrate on his music entirely, resulting in him going off the music scenes for some years.

Pozo Hayes revealed that he will be making his return to music now that he is on pension and promised his fans he’s now going to give his music career the maximum attention.

In an interview with GhanaWeb, Pozo Hayes assured Ghanaians that his music career hasn't ended but rather, it’s yet to commence.

“I have not gone anywhere the thing is or the fact is that I have been working throughout my whole life. I’m a public servant but because I was a public servant I didn’t have the time to concentrate on music but now that I’m on pension I feel that the right time is now”, he explained.

Born Nana Boakye Ofori Atta, the highlife musician noted that music can’t be compared to football because irrespective of your age an individual is still relevant in the music industry as he can sing until his death, unlike footballers who go on pension at a particular time in life.

“We are not like footballers, in music as long as you are even 80 and you can sing, you have no problem.”

Highlife sensational Pozo Hayes and Gyedu-Blay Ambolley were among the A-list performers lined up for the third edition of ‘Dinner with the stars’, an event which seeks to promote African music and celebrate legends in the music cycle.

Pozo Hayes was awarded Best singer at the Entertainment Critics Reviewers Association of Ghana in 1988 and Voice of the Year at Sunshine Music Society the same year.

In 2013, Pozo Hayes had an Excellence Award from Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture for excelling as a physically challenged person.
