All you need to know about Renner, Ghana’s next dancehall Queen

Ghana’s Dancehall music promises to be interesting in the coming months following the emergence of another sensational dancehall queen, Renner born Mercy Nana Efua Renner.

The artiste who is already being sought after a number of record labels and artiste managers is yet to settle on one after parting ways with her management, GHG’s management earlier this month

MyNewsGH.com dug deep into the archives to reveal who this musician whose unique voice has been a major attraction to her work.

She hails from Elmina in the central region but lives at Nungua in the Greater Accra Region. She completed Asesewa Senior High, worked as a secretary for Venus Films Production, after which she decided to take music as a career. The first group of people who introduced her to the music scene was GHG.

Renner is receiving a lot of buzz in Ghana, Africa and across the globe for her hard work and mind-blowing stage performances. She has been on stages like LOUD IN GH, CHALEWOTE, SAMINIFEST, DANCEMANIA and many others. Renner’s style of music is heavily influenced by Afrobeats, Soul, Reggae and Dancehall. She has collaborated with Ghanaian-New York-based Billboard producer, COPTIC on his song “little girl” which had Edem(vrmg) and Joel Orleans.

Renner has worked with new generational artists like EyeJudah(sound the alarm), Koontakra (talk to the hand) TeePhlow(pananawey), Larry J(Jamaica) ,Seeta Kamani among others

Renner was recognized by the Central music Awards with nominations in 2016 and 2017, and won the Best Female Vocalist in both years.

She was also honored in a citation from MFANTIMAN SENIOR HIGH HOSA EXECUTIVES in the central region in 2017.

Renner has a lot of songs making waves both locally and internationally. The very latest is “Good girl Bad girl” which features another talented act, Epixode.

She is also known with renditions of songs from African superstars .
