The 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) was held at the Accra International Conference Centre with late dancehall act, Ebony winning the topmost award as the artiste of the year.

Tamale based hiplife artiste, Ahmed Mujahid Bello popularly known in the showbiz circles as Fancy Gadam won the song of the year and the Hiplife song of the year with his “Total Cheat” tune.

Many on social media had chastised the award scheme for swerving “One Corner” song for the “Total Cheat” tune.

However, Patapaa in an interview with Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda on Monday morning revealed that he was very disappointed to the point that he couldn’t feel his legs anymore.

According to him, he had high hopes of winning in that category but unfortunately Fancy Gadam cheated his way through.

Patapaa, unfortunately, left the 2018 VGMA’s disappointed as contrary to the outcome, he expected to win at least one of the awards.

The 2018 VGMA Most Popular Song of the Year Award was presented to Fancy Gadam Ft. Sarkodie - Total Cheat.

The artiste reportedly bragged about winning the 2018 VGMA most popular song of the year and it turned out he didn’t.

"My one corner hit track will win most popular song of the year in next year’s VGMA’s,” he disclosed. God Opens the way out of the blue, as you all can attest to how viral one corner went, surely it is going to grab the most popular song of the year subject to next year’s VGMA awards,” he reportedly said on Happy FM’s Showbiz Xtra.
