Popular Ghanaian comedian and Social Media sensation Michael Owusu Afriyie widely known as Teacher Kwadwo has found a way to make Ghanaians laugh over the hullabaloo surrounding Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho’s coup d'état comment.

Mr. Anyidoho is quoted to have cautioned the President of Ghana to look out for a possible repetition of history while making reference to previous coup d’états, citing a particular one, involving the late father of the President.

“Somebody should tell Nana Akufo-Addo that history has a very interesting way of repeating itself. On January 13, 1972, a certain Col. Ignatius Kutu Acheampong led a movement that removed the Progress Party from power. Busia was the Prime Minister and Akufo-Addo’s father was a ceremonial president. Somebody should tell Nana Akufo-Addo that history has a very interesting way of repeating itself,” he reportedly said.

He added, “There’ll be a civil revolt. There’ll be a people’s movement. During President John Mahama’s tenure didn’t we receive similar threats from the likes of Let My Vote Count and OccupyGhana,” the former presidential spokesperson opined. There’ll be a civilian coup d’etat; there’ll be a social revolution and the movement is starting on Wednesday. He [Akufo-Addo] will be fed up at the Presidency.”

Following his denigrating comment, Mr. Anyidoho came under attack from organizations and leaders who described his language as ‘diversionary’ while calling for a withdrawal and an apology.

The comedian who has gained fame for his skits on social media has released his latest interview featuring Deputy General Secretary of the NDC in a bid to find out why he made such statements and his current position on it.

The video also shows Teacher Kwadwo hilariously schooling Mr. Anyidoho on why his comments were bad and eventually coerced him to ‘admit’ he was wrong.

From showbiz personalities to politics and even members of the clergy, no one is spared the bite of Teacher Kwadwo.
