Charterhouse calls bluff of critics of VGMAs; say they aren’t bothered

Charterhouse Productions, says it’s not disturbed in the midst of criticisms coming from various stakeholders including the musicians themselves of its annual event, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

“Grammy is about 50 years now, yet people criticize them all the time. We are not disturbed”. Charterhouse stated

According to George Quaye who is Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Charterhouse, people expressing views on activities of the VGMA does not necessary mean Charterhouse Productions is not doing well.

“Even CAF awards gets criticisms all because it deals with human beings”. He justified

“These things happen regularly in every human institution and this isn’t something which will stop today or tomorrow. Once it’s a human institution, everybody can express his view on our dealings. Charterhouse expected these criticisms”. George Quaye disclosed on Sika

He indicated that Charterhouse has well over the past years of its establishment.

Over the years, Charterhouse Productions responsible for organizing Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has been criticized by both musicians and industry players.

This year’s nominations for the yet to be rolled event has had lots of criticisms from some artistes and entertainment analysts.

A prominent entertainment analyst, Zigar who is based in Kumasi has said most music in certain categories was a “mistake and unfortunate”.

Dancehall artiste, Episode has also said MzVee does not befit the category of Dancehall artistes in this year’s nominations.

However, George Quaye in his interview answered by saying: “indeed Episode has the right to say whatever he wants to. Though George refused to respond directly to Episode’s criticisms he indicated that “maybe Episode would be the right person to explain what he said not me”.
