Forget VGMAs and concentrate on international awards – Guru tells colleague artistes

Guru Guru

Regardless of the chart topping songs by Maradona Yeboah Adjei popularly known as Guru, he can’t boast of at least three plaques by Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Guru’s bitter experience has attracted public sympathy as those who appreciate his works wholeheartedly have seen that he has not been treated fairly over the years.

Taking into consideration this bitter experience, it looks like rapper Guru has accepted the fact that he’s not destined to win VGMAs.

As a result, he has advised his colleague musicians who feel cheated in the hands of Charterhouse not to focus on the unfortunate happenings in the industry.

According to him, artistes should rather focus on representing Ghana globally and not only on winning local awards. Guru made this known through his page on Facebook.

He wrote; “Sorry y’all for what’s going on in Ghana music. Let’s not focus on only Winning awards here but repping our mother Ghana globally Love and peace guide y’all”.

Charter House, organisers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards announced nominees for the various categories of the awards scheme for this year.

Afterwards, artistes who could not find their names in the various categories have voiced their displeasure on Charterhouse.
