Slapping my bodyguard was a stage act – 'Inconsistent' Shatta Wale

After making headlines for giving his bodyguard a resounding slap at the just ended ‘S Concert’ and the numerous unsuccessful damage controls to that effect, dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has again given yet another reason behind the slap, saying it was a stage act.

Speaking on Zylofon FM, Monday, Shatta Wale who had earlier stated on Peace FM that he had sorted things out with the bodyguard remarked that slapping Biggie Sparta was a stage act rehearsed for a month.

What abrantepa.com finds interesting is his answer to whether the fan who climbed the stage was part of the act or not. Shatta Wale told Sammy Flex, host of Zylofon FM's Showbiz Agenda that, the fan was not part of the act.

“That was a fan enjoying himself,” he said.

“That is Shatta Movement. It’s serious than the way you people are seeing it… This is the hardest stagecraft ever that Ghanaians have ever seen. I was trying to get magicians; I couldn’t get them. I didn’t slap him to create news. It was a stage act. Period! Nobody should even think of understanding it. People don’t want to understand me and I want to be misunderstood. I don’t want people to understand my acts anymore because nobody is supporting what I’m doing,” he added.

“You like news; I won’t give you positive news anymore. From now, I’m going to give you negative news but that negative news won’t get me into trouble” Shatta Wale noted.

In a video making rounds on social media, Shatta Wale is seen slapping his bodyguard after he is seen preventing a fan from holding his (Shatta Wale) legs while he was performing on the night.

This attracted a barrage of criticisms from a section of the public, some of who described the act as ‘highly barbaric’.

Reaction from the bodyguard

In a video shared by Shatta Wale, the bodyguard appeared unperturbed about the treatment meted out to him and pledged allegiance and support for his boss.

“If Shatta Wale has slapped me, is it your ears?” he asked in the video while adding that people will not understand the love he has for Shatta Wale.

In that same video, Shatta Wale noted that the bodyguard will not speak to any media house about the incident because he is loyal to the SM Movement.
