11 celebrity divorces that stunned Ghanaians

Some of the biggest headlines for a couple of years now have included the failed marriages of some of our most loved celebrities. Although some of them come as a shock, it only reminds us that they too are human.

1. Juliet Ibrahim



Juliet Ibrahim went through a highly-publicized divorce with the father of her son, Kojo Sarfo Jnr., the son of Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo. Juliet Ibrahim made horrible remarks about her former husband who didn’t utter a word.

2. Ini Edo



Ini Edo’s 6-year marriage to a wealthy businessman, Philips Ehiagwina came to an end somewhere in 2014 following what the actress stated as irreconcilable differences. Rumours had it that it was because the actress was receiving pressure from her ex-husband’s family to conceive.

3. Monalisa Chinda



12 years ago, Monalisa Chinda ended her marriage to Lagos socialite Dejo Richard after alleged domestic violence. The actress and mother of one has however recently gotten married to one Victor Coker in Nigeria.

4. Funny Face



The actor and comedian recently revealed that his 2-year marriage has ended about 7 months ago due to reported infidelity on the part of his wife.

5. Kate Henshaw



After 12 years of marriage, award-winning Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw and her British husband parted ways amicably following ‘irreconcilable differences.” The former couple have a daughter together.

6. Emeka Ike



Emeka Ike was recently in the news for trying to prevent his wife from going through with a divorce from him at a customary court in Nigeria. It is, however, safe to say that the actor’s marriage is over.

7. Jackie Appiah



Jackie Appiah called it quits with her longtime husband and father of her son and has since been single. The media bloated her divorce but Jackie Appiah refused to comment.

A couple of years ago, the Afro-pop singer divorced her husband that later led to a bitter battle for their young son. Itz Tiffany suffered a reputation and image damage when her ex-husband allegedly released a sex tape of her when they were still married.

Christian Love went through the nastiest divorce ever with her husband, Pastor Love. Several accusations were thrown at each other publicly. After the divorce, the gospel singer changed her name to Obaapa Christy.

10. Kofi Adu



The actor, popularly known as Agya Koo divorced his wife of several years after allegations of infidelity were exchanged. The actor recently married another woman in London.

11. Chris Attoh



News that Chris Attoh and his wife, Damilola Adegbite, were divorced broke in 2017. The news came as shock to many Ghanaians, as no one expected them to split so soon.
