Highlife legend Nana Acheampong has advised Shatta Wale to do away with unnecessary ‘beefs’ with other musicians, insisting the dancehall artiste must channel all his focus into his own musical career.

Shatta Wale has been in the news in recent weeks, after waging war on Wizkid and his fans on social media. The self-acclaimed dancehall king said the Nigerian act is not a superstar, and wondered why some other Ghanaian artistes become star struck when they see Wizkid.

The 2013 VGMA artiste of the year also has a track record of engaging in beefs with other artistes, and has already picked up on Samini and Yaa Pono in 2017 alone.

However, speaking on the issue, highlife legend Nana Acheampong believes Shatta Wale is a very talented artiste and must focus on his own musical career, rather than beefing his colleagues.

“Shatta Wale is champion in dancehall just like Nana Acheampong is also a champion. So I’ll beseech him to be patient and concentrate on his music,” he said in an interview with Accra FM.

“He’s very good; he should continue doing what he does best. I don’t know a lot about the beef with Wizkid but he should end it and concentrate on his music because he’s too good."

He also had some words for upcoming musicians who want to make it to the top.

According to him, patience and respect for the fans is very key if an artiste is to succeed in the Ghana music industry.

“That aside, I’ll advise up and coming musicians to be patient because to succeed is about loving your fans and vice versa because without the fans, you can’t make it,” the highlife legend added.
