Beautiful photos of an Interracial couple's 50th wedding anniversary

Getting married according to one wise man is easy but staying married is where the real work usually is, so when a couple manages to clock 50 it’s indeed a special occasion.

It’s special because they’ve withered through the stormy days, some of their best days were spent with each other, also they’ve made some great achievements as well as some bad mistakes as a couple yet they’re still together.

The occasion is more special when it’s between an interracial couple because of all the racial stereotypes and cultural differences that exist between the couple and their families. One such couple receiving felicitations, goodwill and attention from the internet is Chief (Dr). Mr Dominic Ekesi and his Caucasian wife Dr. Mrs Katia Ekesi.

Chief Dr Ekesi who is an Engineer by profession married his wife, Katia who comes from an Italian family of lawyers and practitioners in 1967 and moved to Lagos, Nigeria in 1972. Parenting three children; Christiana Akubunachi, Roberto Chidobe & Massimiliano Emeka and co-running a furniture production and distribution company with her husband, the couple seems to have done it all yet they keep going.

At a grand event which was planned by Funke Bucknor’s Zapphaire events in Lagos, it was attended by family, friends and associates of the couple who look so much in love even after 50 years. Their Golden Anniversary also coincided with the 75th birthday of Dr Mrs Katia who was born on the 3rd November 1942 in Italy.

Photos of the event which was shared on social media see the couple in dashing and pretty outfits as they danced together. With the bride, changing into a beautiful gown as she danced with one of his grandsons.
