Ejisu (Ash), May 20, GNA - A 30-year-old farmer at Ejisu, Yaw Adomako and his 32-year-old carpenter friend, Frank Boakye-Yiadom of Effiduase, have appeared before the Ejisu magistrate court for threatening to kill the Headmaster of the Ejisuman Secondary School, Nana F.K. Owusu.
They also face a charge of trespassing on Ejisuman school land. The two pleaded not guilty and were each granted bail in the sum of 15 million cedis.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Nkansah Twumasi-Ankrah told the court that Adomako for sometime now has been threatening to forcibly seize a parcel of the school land, which he claims belonged to his family.
He consequently went and sprayed the disputed land with weedicides and started planting crops on it.
Inspector Twumasi-Ankrah said all efforts by the school authorities and some respected personalities within the community to persuade Adomako to vacate the land proved unsuccessful, as he would not bulge.
He said the headmaster on April 9, this year, parked his private car close to the disputed land and went to his house nearby at about 1200 noon.
On his return, he found a letter placed on the car seat suspected to have been written by the accused persons threatening him with death. The letter read: "Dear headmaster, you are fired by yahoo gangs, you will be shot when you make a mistake, today is your last day, you will die". 20 May 04
