Woman pours hot soup on rival

Nkawie (Ash), April 26, GNA - A 30-year-old trader at Nyinahin was last Wednesday granted eight million cedis bail by the Nkawie magistrate court with one surety to be justified for causing harm. Alice Tieku was said to have poured hot soup on Ama Serwaa, her former rival.
She pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on May 12. Prosecuting, Police Inspector G.K. Letsah told the court, presided over by Mr Beresford Safo Acquah that for sometime, the two women were rivals and were not on good terms with each other.
He said on April 14, this year, at about 6 pm, Serwaa, who was passing in front of the house of the accused saw her eating.
Inspector Letsah said without any provocation, Alice asked Serwaa why she was looking at her and before she could reply, Alice poured the hot soup she was eating on her and seized her slippers.
He said Serwaa therefore, lodged a complaint at the police station and the accused was arrested and after investigation she was charged.
