Fashion Expose At Kumasi

The long term plan of Akosombo Textiles Limited (ATL) to help develop the talents of local designers took a first step when the company staged an impressive fashion expose? at the Miklin Hotel in Kumasi.

The event attracted some distinguished personalities in the garden city, including the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mr Maxwell Kofi Dwumah and some traditional rulers in Ashanti. In a brief remark the Executive Chairman of ATL, Mr Walter Exposito thanked Ghanaians for their continuous patronage of ATL products and assured them of improved quality.

Deserving customers of ATL were honoured with various awards. All award winners also received special thread embroidered certificates of recognition. Theresa Osei was adjudged the over all best customer. She received a double-door fridge, The second prize winner was Ama Gyaa who took away a fridge. Nana Asantewaa was third. She received a 29-inch colour television.

Afia Peprah came fourth and took away a 25-inch colour television.Three of Ghana?s music chart-busters Nana Tuffour of ?Abeiku? fame, Omanhene Pozo and Slim Busterr were on stage to present some soothing songs and energetic stagecraft. The Adinkra Dance Troupe and the University of Ghana, Legon-based Salsa group perfected the evening?s entertainment package with some sizzling performances.

The beautiful designs on display at the event were created by Naa Adoley Wuta-Ofei of Doleys Clothing, Sola Agbeyo-Mawutor of Gasola Fashions, Lorraine Ansah of the Afrique Dezines Limited, Kumasi, and Patrick Opoku Asante of the House Eccentric Clothing.
