I am the ‘King of Dancehall Queens’ – AK Songstress declares

Dancehall Songstress, AK Songstress has indicated that although there are several female dancehall artistes who claim to be Queens’ of Dancehall, she has been crowned ‘King of the Dancehall Queens’.

According to the artiste who in some time past had been embroiled in a ‘beef’ for supremacy with Kaakie, the other can be called Queens but she has been crowned the ‘The King of Queens of Dancehall’by her fans.

She noted that in Ghana, she has not been able to gain enough grounds and popularity although her music is doing very well internationally.

But blamed it on the belief in hype rather than talent; a situation she described as worrying for the Ghana Music industry.

“We believe in hype a lot. Hype is what rules Ghanaian music not talent,” she said in an interview on Accra-based Hitz FM.
