No bonking in church – Mzbel defends Pastor Josh Laryea

Mzbel Mzbel

Mzbel has confirmed she was excommunicated from the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Labone branch, but the reasons had nothing to do with her supposed sexual intercourse with fellow musician and head pastor of the local branch, Reverend Josh Laryea.

The musician made it clear that she has never had sex with Rev Josh Laryea and that the pastor has never made any such advances at her.

She revealed that she was sacked from the church because the leadership accused her of attempting to collapse the church.

Mzbel explained that a married woman who was a member of the church told her something inappropriate about Josh Laryea. So, she, in turn, reported the issue to the husband of the married woman.

But to her shock, all the parties rather ganged up against her and accused her of attempting to collapse the church.

Mzbel made the explanation in an interview she granted Kwesi Aboagye on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review Show.

Though the interview was to promote a charity event Mzbel was to organise at Bukom on May Day, the host took the opportunity to make the musician explain the issues because they had become topical with several contradictory speculations in the media.

About three weeks ago, news broke in the media that Rev Josh Laryea had been suspended as the head pastor of ICGC Doxa Temple, Labone, because of allegations of “immoral conduct” levelled against him.

The suspension letter did not stage the exact details of the “immoral conduct” but said another pastor would be appointed to replace Josh Laryea while the allegations were being investigated.

Not long after the suspension letter reached the media, Mzbel took to her social media pages to write that she had been vindicated by the suspension of Josh Laryea.

Mzbel’s post went viral and provoked a wild speculation on social media that she probable got sacked from the church because of an “immoral conduct” with Josh Laryea.

Meanwhile, curious minds are still guessing the details of the alleged “immoral conduct” for which such a highly respected gospel musician and a pastor for that matter could be sacked from the pulpit.
