Samuel Kwadwo Fosu, the Chief Executive Officer of Exstep Production, a movie production company, has disclosed that the company’s investment partners are ready to invest one million dollars into indigenous Ghanaian movies that portray the Ghanaian culture.

“I have a lot of investors and partners who are ready to invest in our movies. At first, they were afraid to pump money into the movie industry because no strict measures were put in place, but now that the film bill has been passed and other laws implemented, they will be ready to set up their businesses in Ghana if I call on them to come down,” he said in an interview with Ray Charles Marfo on Adehye FM’s Showbiz Arena.

“To be honest, the investors were not so enthused about our Kumawood movies but rather a movie produced in Tamale, which they loved the scenes. They were impressed to see the environment and locations in the movie, which they said depicts Ghanaian culture. They even told me that if they will invest in the movie industry, it won’t be in English but in our local languages with English subtitles.”

Exstep Production has so far produced movies like Enyi Me Mma, Nsoroma, Nya Asem Hwe, Ye M’Adom, Ewiase Ben Nie, and Me Hyebre Sesafo.
