Prolific and amiable gospel musician Sonnie Badu has opened up about reasons he went all guns blazing at bloggers and news portals who put out stories about his death.

The multiple award winner indicated that although he is a man of God, he still has his human elements and as such was just being real. He further noted that he had to quickly react to reassure his family that he was still alive and described the publication as extreme.

“We are men before we become men of God, he noted… We have the same blood as you do, we eat the same food as you do, and we’re very human. We get extraordinary when the Holy Spirit wants us to go on assignment. A military soldier doesn’t fight every single day so it’s ok for the human side of me to react...” he added

Sonnie Badu was responding to critics describing his post on Instagram as harsh.

He further referred to an incident in the Bible where a prophet, Elisha cursed some children to their deaths after they laughed at his bald head.

Sonnie Badu was speaking on the sidelines of Ghana Praise at the Independence Square which saw performances from Don Moen, Darlene Zschech, Lenny LeBlanc from the USA. Affable musicians from Nigeria namely Nathaniel Bassey and Sinach also performed on the night.

The rest of the arts from Ghana were Joe Mettle, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Josh Laryea among others
